Dow Index are maintained and reviewed by editors of The Wall Street Journal, Because the Dow Index consist of the biggest publicly traded companies on the U.S stock market the changes in the index components are quite rare. The
Dow Index price is affected only by the changes in the price of stocks from the index basket and is not affected by the number of outstanding shares. Investing in the Dow Index is made widely accessible in equities through exchange-traded funds (ETFs) as well as in derivatives through option contracts and futures contracts.
